Keeping records is an important part of the 4-H program. Record Books give members an opportunity to reflect on their yearly work. They document skill development and learning experiences in a written report. 4-H members measure their achievements and growth in their total years in 4-H.
Members should keep records for each project. At the end of the year, they are to turn in a Personal Development Report-style record book to their club leader.
To download record book forms, see the California 4-H web page here.
The following applies to primary members in Mendocino County:
- Group Project Record Books will be kept by the leader.
- Each individual member will have a portfolio and/or calendar, for which they will receive a certificate and seal for the portfolio and/or calendar. By doing so, they meet the Record Books requirement for the fairs.
- Standard Record Books are optional.
- The primary Member Personal Development Form (PDR) may be used in lieu of the standard PDR for primary members.
